A while back I acquired a Moleskine book and thought I’d try taking it with me as I go places, and doing some quick sketches with a Sharpie. Turns out this is not the best combination of materials as 1) the Sharpie tends to bleed right through the pages and leave dots on the next page; and 2) the Sharpie is an unforgiving drawing instrument. It has no “undo” function.
In this first jpeg, I show the assemblage of spirits lined up behind the upstairs bar at The Poop Deck, a favorite hang-out of mine in Galveston. Below them are some quickie candid sketches I made of some of the people at the bar.
In the coming weeks, I’ll get a better bit of drawing gear and do some more sketches to be uploaded here. I hope I get better at it. I’m uploading four jpegs’ worth of these sketches now, to see whether people like them. This first one will be available to everyone. The rest will be available to people who pledge at least $2.50 per month via Patreon.
This is a science-fiction, Not-Safe-For-Work webcomic. That means it's set in the far future, in outer space, and sometimes it displays images that you don't want your HR department, the office scold, your mother, or your girlfriend to see (unless she's really cool). Navigate away if that's a problem for you.
